Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This work has not been examined unframed and the cardboard and Masonite supper are slightly torqued. Artist's pinholes are to the corner-tips and creasing is occasional, most notably to the corner-tips. Slight rubbing and a few tiny losses are to the right extreme edge. A loss is near the lower right corner in a white painted passage. A small white scuff is to the upper left corner and a fine linear abrasion is near the left center extreme edge. A few more abrasions are occasional, most notably left of center in a black painted passage and to the lower extreme edge. Visible under close inspection, drying cracks are occasional to the black painted passages. A few compressed impasto peaks are occasional, some with associated loss. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
