The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Gilt-decorated bowl:
- Appears to be in overall good condition
- Some expected rubbing to gilt and a few minor scratches on the exterior; some minor surface abrasion to the interior
- Traces of trimming to foot rim and a few stained pinprick holes to underside of base
Café-au-lait-glazed bowl:
- The bowl has been broken into several pieces and restuck with two associated areas of fill and some minor losses
Blue-glazed bowl:
- A small polished shallow chip with associated polishing along the mouth rim
- Some wear and scratches overall particularly to the interior
