The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Movement: The movement is ticking at the time of cataloguing, and all functions are working; however, a service is recommended at the purchaser's discretion. Christie’s does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Dial: The dial and hands show virtually no signs of wear.
Case: The case has faint to light surface level scratches and handling.
Bracelet: The bracelet has faint surface level scratches and wear.
Accessory: The outer packaging of the presentation box has staining and rips.
Overall Condition: Excellent

We do not give a warranty that any individual component of any watch or clock is authentic. Watchbands described as "associated" are not part of the original watch and may not be authentic. Any presentation box that accompanies the lot may not be the original "fitted box". Clocks may be sold without pendulums, weights or keys.

(b) As collectors' watches and clocks often have very fine and complex mechanisms, a general service, change of battery or further repair work may be necessary, for which you are responsible. We do not give a warranty that any watch or clock is in good working order or whether it can be accepted for service or serviced by its manufacturer. Certificates are not available unless described in the catalogue.

(c) Most watches have been opened to find out the type and quality of movement. For that reason, watches with water resistant cases may not be waterproof, and we recommend you have them checked by a competent watchmaker before use.
