The British Ministry of Defence has had a long history with Rolex and the Military Submariner (MilSub) Ref. 5513 produced in the 1970s is among the most sought-after vintage Rolex timepieces today.

This Rolex Submariner ‘SRR’ is believed to part of a limited issue of only 167 pieces made available only to serving members of the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, an elite unit of the British Special Forces.

Each piece was supplied directly by Rolex London and each caseback was engraved with the regimental cap badge and a unique issue number. This number was also mentioned on a personalized certificate that mentioned the soldier’s name, service number, and rank and the serial number of the watch.
