The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

With a clean, complete, well-maintained appearance, ready to place. Presumably intended to be placed against a wall, as one rail on each stool is straight instead of bowed, and is not carved. With scattered age and construction cracks. Some repairs visible at the feet from the underside. Evidence of previous corner blocks, since removed. Regilt, overall with scattered chips, losses to carving and gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age and handling, most prominently at the 'sharp' sections over the rocaille surrounding the cabochons; some small touch-ups to gaps. The undersides with evidence of previous woodworm, now inactive. The upholstery with minor marks, scattered small pulls to the embroidery, faint discoloration and overall signs of wear, as to be expected from use. Overall good condition, ready to place.
