Le tableau est peint sur une toile ayant fait l'objet d'un rentoilage. Elle est sur un châssis rapporté, à clefs.
A l'oeil nu, on constate des restaurations dans les fonds bruns ayant légèrement viré ainsi que des restaurations dans certaines parties sombres du perroquet (certaines cernes ont été renforcées).
L'examen à la lumière UV révèle les restaurations précédemment mentionnées dans les fonds, correspondant à la marque du châssis ainsi qu'une restauration plus débordante au niveau des feuillages.
Le tableau est sous un vernis vert épais, uniforme.

The painting has been relined, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher.
To the naked eye, there are visible restorations in the brown backgrounds, which have slightly discoloured, as well few retouching in the parrot (some black circles have been reinforced).
Examination under UV light reveals the aforementioned restorations in the background, corresponding to the mark of the stretcher, as well as a more extensive restoration in the foliage. The painting is covered with a thick, uniform green varnish.
