The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall of good decorative appearance, with minor restoration, small losses and chipping to applied decoration. One example with clear lacquer applied to the socle, presumably concealing a break and restoration. This is very well executed. The underside of the foot with two hairline cracks from the centre where the metal plate has been applied to fix the foot to the body of the vase.
The other example with incised line above blue crossed swords mark with some slight wear and flaking to gilding at upper rim. Broken through upper socle with some associated cracks and breaks to the area, restored with some minor losses, the old glue slightly yellowed. Associated restoration to the applied decoration in this area.
