The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheets, some with a deckle edge.
- some occasional very pale and unobtrusive light- or mount staining, minor time staining at the extreme sheet edges.
- occasional soft handling creases in the margins.
- each sheet mounted in thin yellowish card mounts, presumably original.
- most sheets inscribed in the lower right sheet corner in pencil 68/1-30.
- all sheets with remains of old brown paper hinges verso.
- the title-page with portrait slightly toned, with handling creases also.
- the annotated table of contents with some creases.

- a small rectangular pale brown stain in the lower margin.
Le Gamin au chien
- a tiny hole in the lower margin at centre and a small paper loss in the lower left sheet corner.
Le fumeur
- a lightly scuffed diagonal area in the lower right margin.
Le Torero Mort
- a very short repaired tear in the upper left sheet edge.
- minor surface dirt in the lower left sheet corner.
Mariano Campubi
- two small brown stains in the margins.
Gamin buvant
- two small brown stains in the margins.
Marine
- a small, rectangular, pale brown stain at the lower sheet edge.
Baudelaire de profil
- surface dirt at the lower and right sheet edges.
- some short tears at the lower right sheet edge.
The folder with minor wear, the original linen cover pasted on the front, with the date and publisher's address trimmed off.
Otherwise as described and generally in very good condition.
