Christian Van Der Klaauw’s ‘Real Moon Joure Green Meteorite’ not only features a bewitching rich emerald green dial of enormous beauty and rarity, it is also fitted with the most accurate moon phase display ever incorporated in a mechanical wristwatch. In classic Christian Van Der Klaauw tradition, this remarkable timepiece interprets astronomical calculations for horology and translates them into miniaturized mechanisms of breathtaking accuracy and beauty. The 3-dimensional moon phase is handmade, representing the real moon, it indicates the true moon phase. The moon orbits around the earth every 29,530588853 days, the miniature moon phase mechanism is of such extraordinary accuracy that it has a deviation of only one day in 11,000 years. The design of the ‘Real Moon Joure’ is a perfect mix of the traditional and the ultra-modern, naturally focus is placed on the stunning spherical moon phase which is placed within a rhodium outer ring and jet-black surround. The moon itself is deeply textured, one half black and the other rhodium. Set in the lower half of the stunning green meteorite dial featuring the distinctive Roman numerals in the upper half of the dial and CVDK emblem at 12 o’clock.
Christian Van Der Klaauw’s ‘Real Moon Joure’ was awarded ‘European Watch of the Year 2014’.
