The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- visible vertical and horizontal creases along the lower edge;
- there is about a 22cm long vertical tear that has been restored;
- some horizontal paint loss near the right edge;
- visible light soiling;
- the silk overall appears darkened;
- there is damage to the silk particularly across the upper edge;
- it is in our opinion that the work is in overall fair condition.
