The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est peint sur une plaque de cuivre n'ayant pas été parquetée. Elle se présente de manière stable et droite, sans courbure ou enfoncement.
A l'oeil nu, on constate que les figures d'Adam et Ève sont globalement bien conservées. Le traitement des drapés de l'ange en haut à gauche sont également appréciables.
On constate que les couches de matière brune des fonds ont été amincies. La matière est d'ailleurs abrasée à certains endroits où des petits manques sont visibles (ex. : à gauche de la jambe gauche d'Adam, sur son coude, à gauche de son visage ; au niveau du genou et de la cuisse d'Ève, sur sa chevelure ; sur la cuisse de l'ange). On constate également quelques zones de restauration, probablement liées à d'anciens manques sur la joue de l'ange, entre l'ange et Adam, ainsi que sur le sol en-dessous d'Adam. Son vernis est encrassé et mériterait d'être regénéré.
Le tableau se présente sous une couche de vernis assez sec ne permettant pas de distinguer de campagnes de restauration antérieures bien que l'on en devine dans les fonds bruns.
La matière reste stable.
Dans un cadre en bois doré (approx. 69 x 55 x 7,5 cm).

The painting is painted on a copper plate, which is in very good condition, without any indentations or curvature.
In natural light the figures of Adam and Eve appear well preserved, and the fluidity of the treatment in the angel's drapery is fully appreciable.
There has been some thinning to the browns of the background. The has been some rubbing to the upper glazes in certain places, which has resulted in some minor losses (e.g. to the left of Adam's left leg, on his elbow, to the left of his face; on Eve's knee and thigh, on her hair; on the angel's thigh). There is also some minor scattered restoration on the angel's cheek, between the angel and Adam, and on the ground beneath Adam. The varnish has yellowed and carries some dirt, it would benefit from cleaning.
The painting has a fairly dry layer of varnish, making it very difficult to comment further on previous restoration campaigns, although some retouching can be seen in the brown background. The paint remains stable.
In a giltwood frame (approx. 69 x 55 x 7.5 cm).
