Lot Essay

The La Monégasque collection, which debuted at the end of 2011, was planned as a 'ode to gaming, glamour, and the Riviera', perfectly capturing Roger Dubuis' bold personality and unique design aesthetic. By producing completely new calibers that would highlight the brand's developing mastery of haute horlogerie, the manufacturer aimed to bring in a new era of technical and aesthetic refinement. The RD540 movement, which powers the present watch, was one of these innovations.

The La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon is distinguished by its robust proportions that strike a balance between strength and elegance, squared-off edges, and curved lugs. Three complications, a large date display, a 60-hour power reserve indicator, and a 60-second flying tourbillon, are expertly incorporated into a modern and harmonious design.

Roger Dubuis is still the only watchmaker to manufacture all of its timepieces with the esteemed Geneva Seal, which is a testament to outstanding craftsmanship, accuracy, and finishing. Thus, the La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon, which combines the essence of the Côte d'Azur with the exacting artistry of Swiss watchmaking, is the ideal representation of Roger Dubuis' dedication to mechanical excellence and dramatic design.
