Reference 116519 was launched at Baselworld 2000, introducing the new-generation self-winding chronograph calibre 4130, entirely designed and manufactured in-house by Rolex. This high-performance movement, which incorporated a number of innovative and patented technological innovations, set a new standard for automatic chronographs in terms of durability, accuracy, and ease of maintenance. This further solidified the Daytona's standing as one of the most successful sports watches ever made.
