The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
A strip frame is attached to the side edges of the painting with nails. On the reverse of the canvas, there is discoloration in places from an inactive mold pattern, which has been recently treated by a conservator and cleaned. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
