The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- all with 10-15 mm. margins above and below, 30-40 mm. margins at the sides (and similar).
- the sheets very slightly toned, with occasional minor discolouration in the margins and minor time staining at the extreme sheet edges.
- some soft and unobtrusive creasing in the margins, mainly visible in raking light.
- all except Plate E mounted with photo-corners.

- a soft, diagonal fold across the lower corner.
- inscribed Pl. 508 : Calvert in pen and blue ink in the lower right margin.
