Lot Essay

Launched in 2006, reference 5960 marked Patek Philippe’s debut of the Annual Calendar Flyback Chronograph wristwatch. This technically advanced model, which measures 40.5 mm in diameter, also features a day/night indicator and a power reserve display, highlighting its multipurpose design.

The symmetrical and well-balanced dial layout of the dial is complemented by a large chronograph register at six o’clock, also highlighted by a grey base. The double-stacked hands with coordinated printing provide a neat, uncluttered appearance. The unique trapezoidal arrangement of the annual calendar windows at the top of the dial adds to the watch’s contemporary and athletic vibe. Powering the timepiece is the Patek Philippe caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24h, which consists of 456 parts and boasts a 55-hour power reserve, a striking example of Patek Philippe’s technical prowess and dedication to innovation.
