The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description:
- with wide margins, presumably the full sheet.
- the image and Chine collé in very good condition.
- the edges of the lithographic stone fainly visible around the image.
- some pale staining and foxing in the margins, time staining at the sheet edges.
- some pale discolouration and darker staining at the upper sheet corners, associated with the hinges verso.
- some ingrained dust and surface dirt in the margins.
- a small area of skinning in the right margin at center.
- two short, backed tears at the lower left sheet corner.
- some occasional creasing and minor defects at the sheet edges in places.
- a few faint pencil inscriptions in the lower margin recto and verso, inscribed 13262 frz frs. ntg (?) in pencil verso.
- small remains of old adhesive at the upper sheet edge verso.
