The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall good condition, the backing and construction and some grounds later. Scattered fading and discoloration, as to be expected.

Some losses and restoration to needlework, some of the silk and wool replaced and now with some losses and restitching; each constructed from smaller fragments. Good color retention.
The 18th-century silk and metal thread example: 26 in. (66.5 cm.) long, 22 in. (56 cm.) wide
Some small scattered losses to silk and metal thread, generally not extensive. The metal thread with some oxidation. The ground apparently original, now with some areas of wear and some remnants of underdrawing. The applied gallooning with some losses and fraying.
The three with applied 17th/18th century Italian silk and metal thread needlework: 16 in. (41 cm.) long, 16 in. (41 cm.) wide, the pink examples; 21 in. (53.5 cm.) long, 151⁄2 in. (39.5 cm.) wide, the blue example
Each applied to a later ground. The silk and metal thread with some minor losses and oxidation, more prominent at the goldfinches and the blue cushion. The silkwork at the rose examples is particularly fine.

Some scattered splits and slits to the silk ground throughout. Some fraying areas could benefit from securing. Losses to the silk embroidery throughout. Some of the applied borders now loose. Good color retention.
