The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Not examined out of frame. The edges of the canvas are covered by its frame. The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the extreme edges. There are some fibrous accretions in places. There are some light blue media spots near the upper left corner, centre of the left vertical edge, centre of the upper horizontal edge and the lower right vertical edge, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. There are some further minor white media spots in places, most visible to the upper centre of the composition. There are some white accretions to the lower horizontal extreme edge, presumably due to framing. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
