A small production of only 90,000 bottles were produced. Flavours of hot honey, caramel and melon are pronounced on tasting.1993 - Recognised as an extremely difficult growing season, the 1993 vintage of d'Yquem is extremely rare due to the limited harvest.1994 - A late harvest and a longer hang time has created a rather refined vintage of d'Yquem. Fragrant and rich, this wine is one with extensive ageing potential.1996 - A year of particular excellence for Château d'Yquem - 1996 is a textbook vintage, epitomising the elegance of Sauternes. 1996 is a notable year in the history of d'Yquem as 47% of the business was sold to luxury goods company LVMH.1997 - 1997 saw extremities of hot weather conditions, early picking and a lack of fog.
