Lot Essay

Part of the brand’s Patrimony Collection and distinguished by its 37 mm ultra-slim case and stylish tear-drop lugs, this exceptional Vacheron Constantin among the most elegant minute repeating perpetual calendar wristwatches of the modern era. It’s design cues were inspired by a vintage triple calendar (the Reference 4261), the present timepiece is a great example of what makes Vacheron Constantin such a connoisseur’s delight.

A perpetual calendar and a minute repeater that produces clear tones in a superbly crafted ultra-thin platinum case – few brands in the modern era produce such timepieces that combine two high complications in a svelte and slim package. Precisely what makes this such a collectible trophy.

This timepiece is fitted with the caliber 1755 movement; when introduced in 1992 this was the thinnest minute repeating movement in the market at with a thickness of just 3.28 mm. The majority of the 200 movements made were allotted to the Ref. 30010 and Ref. 30030 (with skeletonised dial). It is believed that 77 examples, were however, fitted with a perpetual calendar and moonphase module for use in the Ref. 30020.
