Rectangular, traditionally painted, depicting St. John the Evangelist and his scribe Prochoros in the rocky landscape of the Island of Patmos near a cave, the Saint is in the process of dictating a passage from the Apocalypse, the painted panel seemingly inserted into a later larger panel
