Reference 4467 is a landmark model for Rolex collectors, as it is the first version of the Datejust. Introduced in 1945 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the brand; the first 100 pieces were numbered and sold through an advertisement on the local newspaper 'Tribune de Genève'.

Its design is directly and obviously derived from the Big Bubble Back, from which it differs, of course, for the presence of the date window. Reference 4467 was the very first automatically wound wristwatch to feature a date function.

Movement: The movement is ticking at the time of cataloguing; however, a service is recommended given the age of the watch. Christie’s does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Dial: Signs of ageing throughout. Color’s turned to yellowish. Some scratches, and signs of oxidation on the dial. Spots visible. Hands with scratches.
Case: Some scratches and dents throughout case and caseback. Both hallmarks are visible and sharp. Signs of previous polishing. Glass wish scratches and some dents.
Bracelet: Unsigned later added yellow gold bracelet. Some scratches and signs of wear. One of the spring bar is broken, both are in stainless steel.
