The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the corners with some associated pinpoint paint losses. There are some fine hairline cracks to the upper corners and to the lower horizontal edge. There are very fine drying cracks to the red passages that show the underlying black paint layer. There is a pinpoint paint loss to the lower right quadrant. There are faint linear abrasions in places to the black border. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
