The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheet.
- annotated SILVER SUPER HEAVY in pencil below the subject's chin.
- some cracking to the printed surface upper left, as is common with this print.
- some rubbing and surface dirt in places across the upper composition.
- some pale moisture-staining in the lower right corner.
- a stray spot of green printing ink in the upper section of the gold.
- the gold tones with some printing irregularities.
- without the publisher's inkstamp verso.
- the dedication written in both brown ink and pencil.
- pale time-staining at the sheet edges.
- occasional pale foxmarks visible in the unprinted areas of the sheet.
- the sheet slightly undulating due to hinging verso.
- a few minor (printer's?) creases in the silver.
- with pin holes at the upper corners.
- hinged with cloth tape at places along the sheet edges verso to a foamboard; the reverse therefore only partially examined.
