Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. The canvas is slightly wavy. The impasto is very well preserved. The impasto is slightly flattened in places. There are vertical craquelures along the left vertical edge. There are two small paint losses in the centre left area. There are two circular indent craquelures, some flaking, slightly tenting, with some minor paint losses in the upper right quadrant. There are few drying craquelures in places. The work has slighly discoloured. There is surface dirt. Turnover edges are painted black. There is soft wear to the corners, with a minor loss to upper left corner. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition.
