The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged periodically at the edges to the backing board and undulates. Artist's tack-holes are to the upper corners. Handling impressions, creases, and spots of rippling are scattered, in keeping with the artist's working method. A few spots of lifting are to the tape. Tiny accretions, pinpoint impressions, and faint transfer marks are infrequent. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
