Details
Mineralogically, red is the rarest color and this gem cranberry red is riveting in person. This tourmaline is a stunning masterpiece of nature, of the highest quality and aesthetics, pristine and complete all around. As with most large tourmalines (particularly those from Brazil and Russia) this has been found in a collapsed pocket and thus has been repaired and restored to its original condition: as is acceptable for such specimens. The preparation work was done professionally and to the highest standards. These pieces formed hundreds of millions of years ago and geological forces older than the dinosaur do not allow them to survive in a complete hollow pocket.

This showcase specimen with its dramatic look, presents very well from both front and back. Most other clusters are cluttered in appearance. For these reasons it was kept by one of the mine partners since it was found in 2017 and only released recently.
