Lot Essay


Born in Chile, William G. Helsby (1828-1891) worked predominately there and Argentina. He bought a studio in Chile in 1850 and ran another studio in Uruguay with his brother Thomas called Montevideana. His work can be found in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
