The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is tape along the turnover edges. The canvas is slightly slack. There is minor rubbing and a linear abrasion to the lower right corner. There are some further spots of rubbing with associated minor losses to the lower extreme horizontal edge. There are some fine hairline cracks with associated pinpoint losses in places to the thick impasto, most visible to the black passage in the lower right quadrant. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
