The canvas stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the corners and to the extreme edges. There are some fibrous accretions in places. There is a minor surface abrasion to the black passage in the upper left quadrant. There is a small area of drying cracks in the black passage in the top centre of the composition. There are some scattered media marks, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
