Se guardo le fasce, quasi lingotti incandescenti, di colori non posti a funzionare complementarmente, ma sovrapposti con violenza per drammatizzare la loro reciproca situazione, vedo, quantunque siano fasce l'una sull'altra strettamente aderenti, ogni colore apparire come isolato dall'altro, e alla vista è in quel medesimo istante concesso di subire un urto e d'inoltrarsi, di spaziare, d'illuminarsi nel profondo che vanno scavandosi tra l'uno e l'altro i prodigiosi oggetti.

If I look at the strips, almost incandescent bars, of colours not placed to function complementary, but violently overlapping to dramatise their mutual situation, I see, however being bands tight-fitting over each other, every colour looking like isolated from the other, and the view is in that same instant allowed to undergo a shock and to advance, to range, to light up in the depth that the prodigious objects are digging themselves between one and the other.
