The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Good overall condition. The illustrations published on the website catalogue are accurate. There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches, shrinkage cracks and rubbing due to age and use. As stated to the catalogue, the giltwood base is later. Cabinet: Veneer: There are some restorations to the veneer throughout. Some wooden pieces have been replaced. There is a small horizontal shrinkage crack on the back right part of the cover. There are some horizontal shrinkage cracks inside the upper box to the base. There are two vertical shrinkage cracks inside the right door and restored. There are some veneers flacking especially to the doors. Hardstones: two hardstone elements are missing to the left part of the cabinet, and one on the upper box is missing, and some have been replaced. The feet probably restored. The mirror in the upper part associated. The wooden compartments above later. Base: There are inevitable wears to the gilding especially to the top revealing the red bole and the white gesso. Stable structure.
