The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheet.
- the whole sheet laid to a composite, acidic backboard; the reverse therefore not examined.
- the colours slightly attenuated, with the unfaded colours visible in a line at the lower and left sheet edges.
- some crazing to the printed surface, mainly visible at lower and upper left, as is common with this print.
- a 75 mm. abrasion in the background at centre right.
- a flattened horizontal crease below the lips of the subject; other flattened creases in places.
