The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound. There is some rubbing to the left and lower right corners. There are a few hairline cracks to the vertical edges, in line with the woodcuts, only visible under strong raking light and upon close inspection. There are a few abrasions in places and two to the upper left quadrant and one to the lower right quadrant with some associated minute paint losses. When examined under ultraviolet light, the two extreme left corners fluoresce in a manner consistent with inpainting. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
