The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to the extreme edges. There are a few fibrous accretions in places, predominantly to the upper corners. There are two linear inconsistencies to the canvas to the lower edge, the largest one measuring approximately 7cm. in length. There are a few hairline cracks to the light blue passage to the upper section, only visible on close inspection. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
