The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged to the paperboard along the upper and lower edge. The sheet has shifted in tone, and minor soiling and pinpoint accretions are visible. Artist's pinholes are to the upper right edge and lower center edge. Minor wear, rubbing and surface variation is to the corner-tips and extreme edges. Faint creasing is to the upper right corner-tip and lower left corner and a partial tear is to the lower right corner-tip. A tiny nick is to the upper right edge and a tiny loss is to the lower right edge. Visible under close inspection, faint surface scuffs and drying cracks are occasional, most notably to the black painted passage. Visible under ultraviolet light, a tiny spot of inpainting fluoresces to the lower right edge.
