The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined outside its wooden strip frame, which is attached with nails to the side edges of the canvas. A canvas draw is to the upper right corner. Scattered surface dust and fibrous accretions are to the darker painted passages. Faint surface soiling and rubbing with associated discoloration and wear with associated hairline cracking and pinpoint losses are intermittently along the edges and corners. A few handling marks with associated discoloration are in places, most notably to the left register. Two minute spots of rubbing with associated discoloration are to the upper right quadrant. A stretcher bar mark with associated hairline cracking is to the right vertical edge, visible under close inspection. A few pinpoint accretions and spots of discoloration are intermittently, most notably to the yellow passage and center left edge. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
