The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- a restuck section with associated overpainting and restoration to the mouth rim
- another restored section, possible off and restuck, to the mouth rim next to the restored section mentioned above
- other chips and frits to the mouth rim
- overpainting on both interior and exterior to conceal a crack in the midsection that goes around 3/4 of the vase body
- other short hairlin cracks, only visible on the interior
- there are glaze gaps, particularly to the base on the interior
- kiln grit adhesion to the base
