The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- all four legs have been off and restuck, with associated restoration
- as seen in the illustration, there are chips, loss to pigments, surface scratches and earth encurstation
- some of the remnant pigments have been refreshed
- there are some surface cracks, particularly to the saddle and tail
- a few scattered spots of old glue residues remain
