The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate despite being a little too dark.
There are some minor wears, marks, stains consistent with age and use.
Contrary to what is indicated in the catalogue, there do not seem to be any replacements or major restorations. However, a closer examination of the movement reveals that it has been wrongly and formerly reassembled, without doubt because two screws are loose. It should be considered that if no parts seem to be missing, the movement should be reassembled by a professional clockmaker. Please note that this condition report has been written from a work of art and not a time-measuring object point of view. Christie's does not guarantee the successful functioning of the movement after a restoration or that all parts are present.
A minor restoration with a replacement (around 2,2 x 0,5 cm.) on the upper right corner (lily flower) of the dial.
The gilding is rubbed especially to the smaller dial to the center (gilding completly rubbed).
Some traces of white cleaning product in very minor places ans inside.
