Lot Essay

One of the most unusual and rare early examples of Rolex production, this wristwatch impresses the beholder with its highly unconventional curved design, obviously a very early precursor to the stylistic evolutions that will come in the second half of the century. Preserved in wonderfully original condition and retailed by Bucherer, this timepiece shows that Rolex's experimentalism, so obvious now in models like the Daytona Rainbow or Leopard, was part of the DNA of the company since its earliest days.
