Reference 3970
Reference 3970 was launched in 1986 with its new Lemania based ébauche, replacing the successful reference 2499 which was powered by the Valjoux movement used for the previous 50 years. The present reference was discontinued in 2004 and replaced by reference 5970.

The first series of reference 3970 were produced with a solid snap on back, comprising approximately 100 examples. The second series with a solid screw back, designated reference 3970E (E for étanche, French for waterproof). In 1989, a third series of ref. 3970 was launched, fitted with a solid screw back as well as an additional sapphire crystal display screw back. The offered wristwatch is of the third series and mounted with a sapphire crystal back.

Of particular appeal, the wristwatch is fitted with a specially designed clasp, featuring the cypher of the client. Accoring to research and underscroing its rarity, this example is one of only 8 identified to the market since its lauch.
