The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In sound condition and ready to place. The bronze and ormolu with typical rubbing, light surface abrasions, oxidation and areas of tarnish. The patinated bronze with losses to patination along the edges, primarily at the top. The gilding with some darker discoloration along the base. The clock face with some very small 'nibbles' around the edges but not readily visible. Some of the mounts slightly loose and would benefit from re-securing including to the lower left corner of the front of the case and lower left corner of right side of the case. The enamel dial apparently original and with light scattered nibbles to edges. The underside with paper inventory label, possibly from Perrin, '3972.' The base with replaced screws and with drilled holes for another type of screw. As noted, with anchor escapement, original movement to the case. The pendulum and enamel dial apparently original. Please note Christie's does not guarantee the working order of clocks.
