The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.

Exterior exhibits marks, dents, and cracks, with some losses to the canvas and wear to the canvas covering the hinges. The wooden slats appear to have been sandblasted. The lozine trim exhibits dents and scratches. The leather closure strap is missing. The lock appears to have been cleaned and polished, still it exhibits light scratches and marks.

Interior exhibits significant staining and marks, the white cotton ribbon is a later replacement.
