The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In fairly good condition overall.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
The timber to both chairs with a rather clean surface with sunfading and discolouration. Heavily polished and the current state of the timber would benefit from 'toning down'.
The seats to each with heavy staining, crushing and marks overall, particularly to Chair A which has stains to the left of seat.
Evidence of historic, but apparently inactive, woodworm to the rails to both.
Each have ash rails.
Chair A
Some minor repairs to the splat visible to the reverse.
Plugged repair to the toprail to the right of splat.
Front right leg with some losses to the foot.
Cross-braces apparently original.
Chair B
Some minor repairs to the splat visible to the reverse and associated shrinkage.
Later central stretcher.
Overall both structurally secure and ready to use.
