The Zenith El Primero Lightweight represents an innovative reinterpretation of the manufacture's legendary high-frequency chronograph, conceived with one overriding objective: reducing weight without compromising mechanical performance. Produced in a limited edition of only 250 pieces, the model combines the celebrated architecture of the El Primero with advanced lightweight materials more commonly associated with the worlds of motorsport and aerospace engineering.

At its heart beats the automatic calibre El Primero 400B Titanium, extensively re-engineered through the use of titanium components. Weighing just 15.9 grams, the movement is approximately 25% lighter than a conventional El Primero calibre while retaining the famous high-frequency rate of 36,000 vibrations per hour, allowing the chronograph to measure elapsed time to one-tenth of a second. The pursuit of lightness extends to the exterior, with a case constructed from ceramicised aluminium and carbon, resulting in an exceptionally lightweight yet highly technical wristwatch.

The semi-openworked dial provides a fascinating view of the movement beneath while retaining the unmistakable visual identity of the El Primero. Its three differently coloured chronograph counters provide a vibrant contrast against the predominantly dark, technical architecture of the timepiece.
