The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This report was prepared by Alvarez Fine Art Services Inc.:
This watercolor, gouache and charcoal on paper is in stable condition overall. The paper does not present tears or planar distortions. The paper is mounted to a 1/8" acidic card most probably with an aqueous adhesive. Poor handling has contributed to two creases: in the upper right corner, 3" down from the top edge and approximately 3" long, and a 1" long crease 4" down from the top edge in the upper left quadrant, both might possibly be a result of the mounting. In the lower left quadrant there are approximately six small round losses in the paper which appear to be original to the paper at the time of execution. Visually, the paper is mildly oxidized from contact with acidic material and a natural process of aging due to light exposure. There is a mild mat burn visible at the four edges. Otherwise, the media appears to be well preserved.
