The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with some minor scratches consistent with age and use, one cover with a soldered repair to the underside of finial, three with one bruise to flange of cover and one with three bruises, covers generally do not fit flush on the body or are tight, three with the handle slightly pushed in, one with the handle off and repaired with a screw and with traces of glue residue around the repair and dripping down into the body, the handle still quite loose and with some gaps in the body around the repair, two with shallow bruises to the body, three with some very minor salt stains to the interior.
Marks include maker's mark, date mark, and charge mark for Henri Clavel, Paris, 1782-1789, the flange of cover and rim of body with discharge mark for Henri Clavel and small hallmark post-1838.
