The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good, ready to hang condition. With the expected scattered flaking, lifting and losses to the gilt decoration, revealing gesso and bare wood in areas. With some restored breaks to the cresting, as to be expected, but not extensive. The reverse with label that reads "This glass was bought in 1872 at the sale at Beacon House, Litchfield after the death of Mrs. Hinckley. / Mrs. Hinkcley a mother by her first marriage of the 'Sleeping Children'."
